Reagan/Carter League of Women Voter’s Presidential Debate in Cleveland, Ohio – 10/28/80

Watching these old ones and listening to their intentions and promises with 20/20 hindsight gives a great perspective on history – all the more so when it’s a campaign like this which I remember (albeit not too clearly) from my childhood.

This also reminded me of some of the more… unphotogenic (let’s be diplomatic here) stuff I remember from the 80s-90s… how ’bout a historical political gag reel? Dukakis in the tank, Dan Quayle and the “potato” incident… and who said they didn’t like broccoli? Ya, I know it’s far from your main intent here, but if you ever get the time, perhaps after the elections…
